Books for Corporations and Other Organizations
I have worked with various publishers and organizations to write corporate histories. Here are a few examples.
This image-rich coffee table book about Duke University combined the university's storied history, its current enterprises, and its pursuit of its goals into the future. Click on the image for a link to a preview on the online publication service Isuu; click here to buy a copy.
After I collaborated with Gordon Bethune on From Worst to First, Continental asked me to write their corporate history. If you'd like a copy you can get one directly from me rather than from Amazon.

Energy company Edison International has been providing electricity to customers, starting in California, for more than a century. It was a pioneer in the industry, became one of the focal points of the Enron scandal and the California Electricity Crisis, and recovered to become a leader in the pursuit of alternative energy sources. Its 125th anniversary provided an opportunity for a corporate history.
In 2012 I edited The Open Laboratory 2013: The Best of Science Writing on the Web. The seventh volume in the series created by ScienceOnline and published on the Creatavist platform, it gathered and shared online science writing from all over the world, when writing with an online audience in mind was still a relatively new thing. It was a treat to edit and I still know some of the fine science writers I met through choosing their work.
